Joseph P. O’Dowd is a 1981 graduate of Thunderbird with a Masters of International
Management degree who is retired in Medellin Colombia. He also holds an undergraduate degree in Asian Studies from California State University, Northridge
Prior to his retirement he served as President & CEO of a food safety company, worked as an independent business consultant focused on agrobiotechnology, and was Vice President Global Product Development and Supply/ R&D at Embrex Inc. prior to the company’s acquisition by Pfizer. Mr. O’Dowd began his international career at Solvay Animal Health where he served in various capacities including Vice President Sales and Marketing-Latin America, International Marketing Director, and Regional Marketing Director Asia/Pacific. From 2005 to 2007 Mr. O’Dowd served as Chairman of the Board of a non-profit corporation providing medical and health services to at risk youth in Wake County, North Carolina.
